I provide counseling for adolescents (14 years and older) and adults who are dealing with a variety of concerns including: life changes, family and workplace stress, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and grief. I assist clients in identifying their existing strengths and resilience while working collaboratively to determine areas of change.
I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults who are navigating independence, difficult family relationships and early adulthood. I love helping people identify and practice establishing new boundaries in relationships.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington (LW60509108). My social work background uniquely prepares me for producing change at both an individual level and community level. It has also influenced my strong commitment to social justice and inclusivity.
I have over 10 years of experience working in non-profit, school and community mental health settings with adolescents and adults both individually and in groups. I have worked in an alternative school and was the co-director of a resilience based alternative to suspension program for youth. I have also worked in a community mental health center and within a group private practice. In addition, I continue to receive ongoing professional education to expand my skill set, maintain my professional license and to provide the most effective care for my clients.
I have experience with and welcome clients from all backgrounds regardless of age, gender identity, ethnicity, race, religious affiliation and/or sexual orientation.
I rely on a variety of techniques and therapy modalities including: motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices and cognitive behavior therapy.
